The API release notes, deprecations page, and pricing page together confirm the current top tier is Claude Fable 5 (claude-fable-5, $10/$50 per MTok, launched June 9 2026) alongside Claude Opus 4.8 (claude-opus-4-8, $5/$25, launched May 28 2026) and — new since the study-guide tables — Claude Sonnet 5 (claude-sonnet-5, launched June 30 2026 at introductory $2/$10 per MTok through Aug 31 2026, standard $3/$15 from Sep 1 2026). Sonnet 4.6 is now a prior-generation active model rather than the current Sonnet. Fable 5 / Mythos 5 were briefly pulled and restored July 1 2026.
